SteB's Mk1 Polo: The Story So Far

It all started many moons ago when I was looking for my first car, I was after something retro (possibly a mk2 escort) when the lads spotted this polo at a local garage.

Small engine, low miles, very good condition. It would have been rude not to!

Looking something like this it won Best Stock Watercooled at Dubfreeze 2004. Not bad, considering it had been my daily driver for 4 months over winter

Not long after that, it got some funky wheels and lowered a bit

And then just recently, another set of rims - 13x8s yeeeah!!!

Currently, its sat at home, on the drive under a car cover, feeling sorry for itself whilst I finish my final year at Uni.

Plans are afoot for some big changes, but more of that when the time comes!

Sites we like...

These chaps really know how to mess with their Dubs and other assorted german metal

Lots of projects, show pics and loads of cars.

Enjoy!!!

Favourite Air Freshener

it had to happen. Amongst the semi-randomness that is already Old Skool Dubs, theres a nutter loose.

Someone has dug up a thread from way down town. What's your favourite in car air freshener?

Magic Tree is gonna win, theres no question.

Would you spoil a perfectly good Rallye?

Theres a cracking thread on dubforce this week...

DaveyBoy, a new user (Welcome Dave) has a passion for Fords and VWs. That something you dont see often, its a refreshing change.

Anyway, long story short... he wants to drop a cossie engine into a Rallye. You know how Rallye obsessed we are on Dubforce, well that statement alone was like a red rag to a bull. The Rallye enthusiasts were up in arms about another Rallye having its heart ripped out. The petroleum junkies were straight on the case citing the inability of tuners to get more than 300 reliable horses from a G60 block.

Whats your stance? Weigh in on the thread here. Whatever your opinion, its sure to run and run.

Welcome Home Penny

Well, it was only going to be so long til I killed myself in the Nissan with all that rear wheel steering going on in what is supposed to be our coldest winter in 10 about to kick in.

So I won penny back on ebay. here she is the day i bought her the first time!!!

Now I've got some VW transport to get me to the bodyshop and take bits over for the G60 final build which is starting all over again...

PHresh new 9n Polo

Wow, this car is smooth as!

We knew we were looking at something special as soon as it rolled out of the bodyshop. Smoothed Arches all round. Smoothed Bumpers built up to meet the arches. TT Filler cap and all badges and Handles on the Boot deleted.

This car is smooth.
